    Why Technical Experts?

Our technical experts help us set the development philosophies at play in our club. They stay up to date with the most recent coaching and development techniques, and make sure our coaches at all levels of our club are following the recommended guidelines. Guidelines and recommendations are brought to the Technical Committee for approval.

    Percy Hoff

Percy Hoff, Director of Coaching and Player Development, provides overall direction for the development of coaches and players. Percy has vast coaching and playing experience and has been involved in the development of local talent since 1987. Percy has also been involved in the preparation of National Youth teams. He currently holds a Canadian A Licence and certification from the United States, Brazil and the Netherlands. A Master Coach in the Canadian National Coaching Certification program, he is well versed in sports science. He holds his Master of Coaching Certificate with the National Coaches Association of America and the University of Delaware.

    Austin Boryksi

Austin Borkysi is our Club Head Coach. A product of the Hollandia youth system, Austin attended the University of Saskatchewan where he completed his degree in Kinesiology. While earning his degree he played for the Huskies for 5 years. The highlight of this period was being crowned champions of the Canada West conference and earning a berth to CIS nationals in 2014. Austin is currently an apprentice coach in the High Performance soccer stream, where he is mentored by Percy Hoff. He has attained his C license from the Canadian Soccer Association and is working on attaining his B Licence. He brings to Hollandia a very professional approach to coaching, coupled with an easy-going, supportive style that brings out the best in his players.

    The Astra Connection

The ASTRA Soccer Academy is a soccer learning organization independent of Hollandia, which provides supplemental training to players from all zones across the city. Hollandia wished to offer additional skills focused training to all our players in the club environment. ASTRA was chosen to enter into a contract with, because it follows a similar player and coach development philosophy as Hollandia. The ASTRA contract is reviewed and renewed annually by the board.

ASTRA is the only SSA approved Soccer Centre of Excellence in Saskatchewan, and as such must meet stringent standards imposed by the SSA with respect to coaching qualifications, sports science programming, curriculum and other factors. For players wishing to progress to the High Performance Stream (Provincial, National, Professional and University levels), supplemental training is a necessity. Some 250 players currently receive supplemental ASTRA training which amounts to five days per week of intense training.

Please contact Astra Soccer Academy if you are interested in additional training opportunities.
